    Keystone19 Race Report PMCC 28 January 2007

What a great day! Got my ass whipped by Goblin in two races, locked handlebars with a motard at 160kph and thought it was all over, didn't come last in my first foray into F2, thought Goblin was going to die when I saw her enter the first corner in the first race of F3, and thoroughly loved every second of it...!

I did 8 races and two practices over the course of the day. First up was F2:

F2 - my first ever time in F2 and it was great. Maybe 15 bikes and a real mix of sizes, even a couple of motards. I started near the back in each race and had some great battles with a guy on a two stroke in all but the last race when he didn't show. I felt I was riding smoothly and aggressively - all good. Funniest part (kind of) was coming around the corner on to the front straight and seeing HDTBoy rolling off into the grass and a lap later seeing him do it again on corner one...only time I beat him mind...

F3 - what a dogs breakfast! There were 34 bikes in here and the majority were motards. Of the four races, I got good starts in two of them. I chose a position on the outside of the grid so I could stay wide into corner one - trying to stay out of the rough stuff - I always lose places when I get stuck in the middle. It was in the first race that I a) locked handlebars with the motard - bruised my pinky finger too damn it! and b) the officials missed my number so I got no points. Both these things contributed to my lack of aggerssion in the remaining three races, if I had wanted to do well here I would have had to have been really aggressive and it just wasn't there I'm afraid!

Having said that, every race I did was a challenge and I continue to learn heaps every time I'm out there.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out on the day.

Great to see Momentum and Toast out there for their first attempts at racing. PMCC is a bit of a lottery when it comes to organisation (read 8 bikes on the front row of F3 in one race, 9 on the second row and the starter just shrugs!!!) but it is a really good place to start racing...

My next outing will be at the Manfeild Nationals - another opportunity to get my ass whipped - I can't wait...

Yeah, that was a horrible sight, Jill. Lucky not to get stitches.

Good to see you out there in F2. Your starts were pretty good if I recall, left me easily.

    See ya next time

Thats the best thing about the PMCCracing is you get plenty of tracktime and don't have to wait for ages for your next race.
Glad you had a fine day. Whats up with Goblin is she running on Nitros or something?

Yeah, Kel forgot to mention she installed a nitro kit before this round - the scrutineers didn't even pick it up...
