    zxr 250 help/advice etc

Hi, My sons best friend has a zxr 250 and it has an oil leak around the gear selector shaft, is this a seal or an o ring and can it be easily replace or does the entire shaft need to come out??? cheers Lucy

Its a piece of cake i did mine on a zxr 250 on friday, the new oil seal cost $7.50 from the local engineering supplier and took about 2 minutes to put the new one in.

Just wrench the old one out with a screwdriver, dont worry about damaging it, pull the number off it and get another one then whak it back in, if possible get one with a double seal lip, itll last longer.

    hope this helps

Ill second that -BUT I'd wrap the splines of the gear change with tape before slipping the seal on-saves the chance of it getting ripped on the spliens.
