Wow what a fantastic thing! Good on you Dan for organising this and once i get my bike hehe, i will be coming to these with bells on! (If not working). Man am totally blown away by the folks on this site! Anyway hope all have a good night on Wednesday and i look forward to being able to come and learn from people who have been doing this a lot longer than me. No point in recreating the wheel eh.

How about instead of a straight line we use more of the area and go up and down instead of along. three cones long which would enable counter steering in the middle with wider at the ends (basically u-turns) and to really spice it up could incorperate emergency stopping into it as well once everyone was comfortable enough with it.
Could even start it off long (distance between cones) then shorten the gap as the evening goes on ...

Not sure if I am meant to say the place, so hopefully you can figure out what I mean.

Just my 0.2c minus tax plus inflation rounded up to the nearest 10c ...

Dont worry Crashe, Dan has been putting in the extra hours of practice, good on him too.

And by the looks of it Disco_Dan, that is something you really need to practise doing, both of these things on that new bike of yours.
Saying that the cones were too close together, and yet Kittyhawk managed to get throu them ok on her new bike.

Morcs - bring ol lil dink along this wed and this time get out there and do it! instead of watching!

    Nope nope nope....

I was implying that everyone who did this exercise last week needs to do it again as there was alot of improvement towards the end of the night.

That's if its possible but hey, it's only a suggestion.

Besides I dont mind doing it again you can never have too much practise!!

    Cheers KitKat, appreciate your feedback!

    * There is a tiny chance I may not be able to make it tomorrow, as I will be up north and may not make it back on time (depends on what speeds I can get ) - but I will try to make it, its still all on though!

Was agood night (while I was there anyway). The usual expected improvements... people getting more confident in their braking and White Belt... awesome mate - I saw that last 3 pretty much on the money - you and Tide might want to go try out some higher speed stopping.

60 or 80 kph and brake rapidly (not full on braking to start with). Get the feel of the bike settling and stopping. Keeping it straight.

Move up to braking hard(ish) around corner or around objects.

    All god guys.

Dan - where'd you end up?

Good stuff folks, glad to hear there was some improvements made!

I had a 'personal commitment' and could not attend, but I did pass by the pub and give you all a toot! I managed to negotiate a rather long 9kms of gravel road, on a fully loaded bike with a pillion... boy that was fun Especially when the gravel started on the crest of a hill and I was going full pelt when it turned to gravel..

See you all next week !

    Practice

I would like to practice coming to a stop ( at lights etc) without putting my foot down before the bike makes a complete stop if that makes any sense.
Also changing down nice and smootly.
