I find it quite distressing that someone that works for a bank cannot tell the difference between a 3 and a 4.

I would like to refer you to my original change of address request.

I have had my "personal banker" recommend an account type for me to change to. I have requested it be changed. I have been informed that they will need to send me a form to do so. I have received no form.

Now be a good boy and put one of those change of account forms in the post to ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR A Dover's Road.

    Thank you,

    Ben

ha, looks like you found out what its like to be treated like a National Bank customer.

I took great delight in telling them to shove their accounts last week.

Westpac were the only ones who were prepared to loan me enough money to buy a house, and to cap it off, no fees ever, on anything except for intrest where applicable

ahh the National Bank, I know how you feel, I think they invented stupid.

I once asked if it was possible to put more transaction details on the online statement, you know with selling on TradeMe and all. They came back with: oh but it's already there, huh where I can't see anything. After 5 emails, just running around in circles, I just gave up.

I found out later (not thanks to NBNZ) that you had to download the statement to see all the details. Now, how hard is that to put in an email.

Heh. I'm with ASB, and just in terms of customer service I've always been glad I'm with them, and not National. My boss used to pay me with an actual physical cheque (thank god I've got him to do a direct deposit), from National bank. Being as poor as I am, I couldn't wait the 3-day bank clearance time from giving the cheque to ASB to bank for me, so I used to go to National bank and ask for it to be cashed (you can do this, they just ask for ID). Every single time I went into National bank, not only were the staff rude to both me and their own customers, but the service was slow, poor, and I frequently overheard arguments. The worst thing about National is their front doors -- they make you stand in front of the automatic door, which rings a bell inside and a bank teller (who might be in the middle of dealing with a customer) will look at you through the door, and if you look like you're not carrying a gun, will press a button to open the door manually. I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal every time I go there.

I will never put my business with National, even when I have any money.
