This type of riding pisses me off... as it gives all bikers a bad name... most cage drivers will remember this one biker, and not even see the other 200 riding sensiblily...

Regarding this sort of thing: The ride with the Dunners crew to and from the Magpie Madness was one of the best longer rides I have been on as far as safety goes.

No crowding, no passing with small (or no) safety margin, no weaving, no blitzing through the pack etc.

    Sheer comfortable riding bliss.

Re the Toy run on Saturday, from Bronz website:
"Toy Run Saturday 1 December 2007
We are please to host the 24th annual Toy Run on 1 December 2007. Due to last minute advice from the DCC about road closures we have had to change the gathering point from Logan Park High School to the Dental School at Gt King St.

We are still meeting at Carey’s Bay from 1.30 – the Carey’s Bay Hotel will offer riders free non-alcoholic drinks. We will leave Carey’s Bay at around 2.00pm and riders will be make their way to the Dental School gathering point. From here we will pick up our police escort and we will leave for the Octagon at about 2.45pm. At the Octagon we will donate the toys to the Dunedin North Lions on behalf of all the riders. After the formalities are over please feel free to join us for a BBQ at the St Kilda Tavern – the team at the St Kilda will also have free non-alcoholic drinks."

    Sounds good!

Now the question is how to get to Carey's bay - how about over Mt Cargill then back over the newly sealed route from Waitati to Port Chalmers? Is there a good cafe' somewhere up there for a lunch stop or do we just leave Dunedin after lunch? - or - do another KB picnic - at Warrington or somewhere like that

Good commonsense stuff - although sometimes we see examples of where the sense isn't so common

Well when I was a student 20 years ago it was a block or two south of the Cook, on Great King Street. Opposite (or close) to Dunedin Hospital.

310 Great King Street - it's the cul-de-sac part of Great King Street near Dunedin Public Hospital (photo attached).

Getting up to 300 bikes in there at peak hospital visiting time could be fun...
