You're obviously expecting a long sealed section to end with then you cheeky bugga!!! - I take it you've got your radar detection working again?!

I did wonder about ending up out here - would be great for me not having to ride home afterwards - but not so good for the Dn crew, especially those allergic to gravel. It will definitely be a suggestion for a future ride but I suspect not till next spring/summer. On the other hand I do have a couple of thousand hazelnut trees about to start dropping their fruit - a bit of slave labour to help pick them up might be just the thing????? BBQ'd hazels go well with a good BBQ steak

Anyway it looks like this Sat we ride to Waihola after the Easter Egg run. Thanks Silverfern re the coffee report - looks like I'll meet you another time.

    OK, so it's Waihola?
Via Taieri Mouth or Three Mile Hill? My personal choice is Three Mile Hill, but I'll go with the majority vote. Actually, it would be interesting to split up and see which way is quicker. Any thoughts?

Three Mile Hill would be quicker, but Taieri Mouth would be much more fun.

We are going via 3 Mile Hill, bugger democracy,- route laid out earlier in this thread. This way everyone can go.
Coffee/meal ? - yes G you're probably right so I guess we'll make it up as we go. They do a very good meal at the Waihola pub as well.

I seem to recall that the forecast for last weekend was for rain, rain, rain...

I guess we'll know for sure on the day.....

Sounds like the route will be the same - see you at Logan Park.

Weather doesn't look that flash but probably just occasional showers and a bit of a SW wind - shouldn't be too serious or character testing.

The gravel that added a bit of... excitement to the last trip... And we were moaning that the council doesn't sweep it up. Has anyone talked to the council about this? Or does anyone know the best way to request that they sweep this road semi regularly to avoid having to fish a bike out of the harbour?

I don't mind gravel or grit on the road when I know it's there, its when you don't know its there and you hit it on a bend can be a bit hair raising.

But I have noticed that the council are getting worse at cleaning up there mess
