Actually Delphinus tried the dash of 2 stroke but found it rather dashed out from underneath him - hopefully photos are coming NH, Free2b??? Fortunately he didn't manage to damage himself on either of my dirt bikes but his leathers will certainly need a clean tonight aye J

So D do we appoint you chief casserole taster then????

Yes it was definitely an interesting experience... infact its been a very interesting day, i'll leave Free2B to fill in the rest
Thats for the opportunity to have a blat round on those dirt bikes... what a totally different style... actually have to steer properly instead of countersteer...
And it feels like a horse... but at least a horse doesn't fall over :P

You obviously haven't ridden one of those either Delphinus, I have had miles worse spills off them than off motorbikes and they "do" fall over too! John.

yes we will let her explain... but it does have something to do with petrol... again

over all an awesome day, awesome roads, awesome ride, and as Bruce stated the TransAlp and the 2 sports bike taking the twisties a bit quicker, the two cruisers bringing up the rear at the regroup spots and only a few moments behind. Every one was happy, and riding at your own pace. Was good.

Past the binned bike... and Tom was there picking up the pieces Not sure what our how it happened...

The photo that needs to be shared... well okay a couple...

Yep, saw NH and co, go past me at the crash, it was a fatal.

Unsure how he came to crash - the road was dry, no other traffic at the time and it was a nice sweeping left-hand bend yet he ran wide and off the road.

Whatever the reason I suspect it was in conjunction with excess velocity

O no SD thats tragic!! guy was from Kai did you know him or of him? yep i would say excess speed probably caught him out by the sounds of it damn eh..... and definately sobering for everyone my Dad is an ex-copper and he still has flash backs of some pretty gruesome accidents he attended ( back when safety gear was pretty primitive too or not required by law) not a nice part of the job at all, and informing the family afterwards he reckons is the worse part!!

Lmao at the trail bikes sorry i missed the action too!!! and where the hell was the blue sky from? glad you guys got to go on a ride where you could get into it

And D your a bit of a dark horse (excuse the pun) lol competitive riding huh and i would agree with OR on that subject i've had some nasty spills off horses involving concrete posts, jumps etc horsies far more unpredictable then a bike a i reckon !!!
Now i will tell you what i've done for you!! 50,000 tears i've cried, screaming, decieving and bleeding for you and you still won't hear me don't want your hand this time i'll save myself maybe i'll wake up for once.........

    !
The Blue sky?? - it was blue sky all the way from here till we got back to Lawrence when it started to cloud over a bit again, but no rain or even looking like it was going to rain. The views from the top of Moa Flat were just awesome.
NH got a text while we were in Lawrence to say it was raining in Dunedin so it was obviously just very coastal (again) - don't know whether they got rained on on the way back - sounds like Free2b might need something that can run on water as well!!!!!????

Just read in the paper about the biker killed near the Milton/ Central turn off.
Had to jump on KB to make sure it wasn't one of the usual Dn crew.
Relieved to hear it wasn't but V's and my hearts goes out to the riders family.

Well, seems like we missed another great ride. Lots off sun and laughs. Geez I hate having to work for a living.
Great pic's NH. Especially like the shot of the black sheep stranded on his back ( that one gets my vote). Awesome Delphinus.

Well you know... i had to provide some entertainment for the crew...
As for that maneuver, all planned of course, its the shock that hurts stuff so if you keep the momentum going and do a roll like I perfectly executed it reduces injury!

Yes Sunday was an awesome days riding and it seems I have some gaps to fill. NH and Delphinus arrived here for the coffee starter and we where off to Milton to meet the others. Daffyd and Ruralman, and Jimjim too tho hae couldnt make the ride...next time .A nice we spin thru the gorge and Lawrence for lunch in the sun . Up thru Millers flat across the river and back via the damn to Roxburgh where yes we did get fuel. OVer the other wee loop back of the beaumont pub to Heriot and back again to the main road. A fantastic piece of seal !!! Back to Lawrence for what was supposed to be coffee but I seriously have my doubts . Called in to RM,s and watched D have a play haha good picks NH. If Paula didnt have tea for us we would have stayed for your casserole. (See didnt call it that other word). But had to go so back on the road passing the sad sight of the crash other side of the gorge...very sad. Turned of at the wee bypass at Waihola and then NH wanted to go straight down the main road so not to be too late. But hey we were havin fun so Delphinus and I took the scenic route (tho it was starting to get dark)... Henley Outram and over three mile hill...sounds simple ?? Reserve kicked in at Henley but hey its still not far to Dunos?? Things got a little slow up three mile hill when yep I did it again ... outa gas didnt take D long to notice I wasnt there and he was off after the gas can (last one we bought was at NHs so they both came back with a full tin In the mean time not one person had stopped ... Id have stopped for me. Refuled and off again for tea... thanx paula enchilladas and apple crumble YUM. We were all really hungary by then and it just hit the spot. Yet another great ride ...me thinks must get a bike with a bigger tank Thanx again for the rescue guys you rock
