If we can just leave personal grooming posts to one side for a few moments (sorry to interrupt - actually fark it not I'm not)
Anyone interested in a ride tomorrow - I had been considering going up to Geraldine via Otematata but the weather doesn't look good for what I want to look at up there so I'll put it off till next week or something.
It does leave the option of the ride I described on the previous page - if theres someone who really won't do the gravel section I could work out an alternative route and a meeting point.
It would be about a 200km loop from Milton and almost none of it on SH1, and only about 36km on SH8, about 15km of easy and very wide gravel road, and the rest on great secondary sealed roads with maybe one or two corners (to the power of about 200!!!)
Who's keen - either meet in Milton or here at my place (could do a low budget baked beans for lunch job???)
If you only want a small local ride then stick up a suggestion
I'll keep my mouth shut. last W.E i said i should be able to go both days but that all turned pear-shaped.
I would, but I am still waiting on my EFTPOS Card from BNZ (for my main account etc) my other bank account I was using the other day has finally dried up) and it was suppose to be here last friday...
So in the wisdom of the bnz help desk they have cancelled the new card on order that hasn't arrived and order another one... (so I won't have it for the weekend rally either... ferk it all) I so not use to carrying cash
So I see how I go... I got a $20 note in me wallet so that one tank![]()
really think you should consider going north the scenery is much better up here, not to mention the weather!
But after Oamaru the roads get SO BORING!!!!
In the words of TWR - theres no such thing as bad weather - just bad choice in riding clothes (and maybe lack of hot grips!!)
Hey welcome aboard there FBG - the hospitality down here usually makes up for the crap weather, and most of the crap disappears once you're a few kms out of Dunedin anyway!!!
Hey, was down there today and the weather was really bad.... Fog on the KIlmog, makes me realise why I left. Despite that I still love the place and the people. The further north you go, the warmer the weather, the colder the people!
Sorry, no more quips about the weather, Dunners is my home town and, yes, the hospitality makes up for the weather! Have hot grips and good gear so can brave the conditions. The inland road from Oamaru is good, turn off at Kurow and have some fun just watch out for the dead wallabies through the Waimate Gorge!!!
I gotta head into cromwell at some stage to replace a small part in their TAB machine... was planning on doin it tomorrow on the bike but they dont open till 1pm so would not be back to lawrence till about 2.30 3ish i guess. Depending where the route is i might just leave the job till thurs.
bwahahahaha... oh wait.. I better turn off me hot grips first...
I may be up for a wee ride will see what the weather brings![]()
