Well it was 13 degrees as I drove through the Manuka Gorge this arvo, around 16 past Waihola - warm, no ice and I'm driving the farking cage!! Weather looks pretty good for a couple of days and that wind isn't as bad as it sounded like being - I've got a wee job on Friday that might have to be done on 2 wheels.

I've only got one of the boys home for the weekend - think I might tie him on the back and go for a quiet Sunday ride - anyone else interested in coming out this way? Provided the weathers OK of course.

Summers here!

Went for a ride to Omarama today to check out my helmet setup (courtesy of generous Jim2) and winter is currently on hold!

There may be a few more challenging days ahead but it's summertime now and I am going to make the most of this one.

Yeah and Sunday looks worse with heavy rain - I'm planning on going for a small ride tomorrow but I doubt it will be coming out over the weekend. Check out the Pissed Penguin thread for the gravel ride to the Penguin we're discussing - leaving my place about 9am on the Sat

Yeah, I agree, Sundays's not on. Pity, the palm of my right hand is getting throttle itchy!
Thanks for the heads up on the PP no black tar ride. I was in OZ when this discussion started. I'll be there! Have done parts of this on the XT's. Will be a bit slower for the v-strom as the tyres tend to be black stuff capable and gravel stuff we have to go quietly.

I've just read your ice story about the horse and the float. Know this spot well as we lived in the Waitaki for 8 years. Must have been interesting riding on an angry tiger!
