A day in the country and yet ANOTHER young Dunedin KB'er begins to succumb to the dark side - will he resist or start wantonly staring and oogling machines with 21 inch front wheels, grippy tyres and long travel suspension. Watch this space.

Went for a quick ride out to the Taeri Plains with NH.
I felt more confident on the motorway as I didn't feel like I was holding people up with the two lanes, and got up to 90km on the way out.
Went on a back straight behind Outram and got to 110 km. It was to get me used to going the speed limit. (My L plate must have disapeared...)
It felt SOOOOOOO fast compared to the same speed in a cage.
I kind of went the speed limit coming back. Rush hour Friday probably wasn't the best timing on our part but at least it isn't Auckland or somewhere. I did keep up with traffic and my only issue was the car going at a stupid speed so I couldn't get past the truck doing 90 for a while. And the car STUCK in my blind spot for ages. Sometimes shadows are good.
Perfect conditions for it today. If I had my new pants (which should arrive this week) I could have gone for lots longer. Then again when I got off the bike at home, I'm not to sure. I could still walk though, so thats a bonus. NH says I was smiling, but I told I am still too new at this to be smiling yet.
Thanks for the support all you lovely KBers have given me too, it has helped with my confidence.
Enough babble. Hopefully another ride (or two) tomorrow and I might see some of you at the PP.
Go Xaria, great day for it! Cheers.![]()
When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flashweaken the plastic?
Good to hear that you are progressing so well Xaria.
Now, don't forget that the Bruce Bay rally is tomorrow. Meet at the Chatto Creek tavern at 10:00, lunch at Makarora, a few beers at Haast, then Bruce bay late afternoon. Return sunday.
Time to ride
