Even a couple of weekday rides and as well as weekend.
Since the Sporty hasn't sold (yet) CB wants to use it (has her full bike licence - had it for longer than some of you have been around) but has not had that much experience with it so a few shorter confidence-building rides appeal to her.

But no 300km rides for her just yet...

Kewl great to hear and see... a few shorter trips. and before you know it she will be doing more than you... Paula wants a few shorter ones as well where there are other learners to help with her confidence. But later on she is looking forward to the longer ones... and already planninga couple trips kewl

I'm not up to 300 km rides yet, but really would like to do that next year for the PP. Give me a yell if you would like to meet sometime. I have Fridays and Saturdays off.

Although I have been to Cromwell on my own (approx 230 kms) I am not very fast, so shorter rides at this stage suit me better. The more stopping, starting and hill starts the better.

Must get my A into G and arrange a day to ride with you. Most likely day this week will be Saturday. Our work load is very heavy this week but come Saturday I am on my own. The boss and 2 Daughters are away to Central to do a spot of bunny hunting, so will be having me time.

NH is off to the little river rally this weekend, si I thought I would ride some of the way up with him on Friday, and then on Saturday I was thinking of Middlemarch / Dunback / Palmerston or something like that. Of course if CB is off, could do a southern loop...

    Speaking of nice day rides

Yes, theres a great day ride in the first weekend of Dec

I am toying with the idea - something every serious rider should aim to achieve some time I reckon - but will it be this year? Anyone else thinking of doing it?

Yes it always clashes with that - and I think last year it was the BRONZ Xmas toy run on that Saturday as well (apparently a few come back from the rally, do the toy run and then ride back for the Sat night)

Do you reckon you could cope with 1600km in 24 hrs on the VTR ??

I recokon I could comfortably do it... and the VTR is running sweet at present too new rubber, just had a service

1600 Km's / 24hrs average = average speed required (with no sleep and or fuel) 66 kph At a 100kph then 16hrs + fuel and a couples hours for kip and rest.. well thats the theory... doing it is another story...

As for the toy run, if it clashes again this year I will most likey come back down on the saturday a do that as well and go back to the site on Sat err then back to Dunners on Sun and then... oh wait thats it till the KB rally...
