A plan to ride the Catlins northward home could have been twarted due to my Hurricane tanks range is only 85 miles (km's ??). Phoned Daffyd, "petrol at Pounawea till 6.30pm", OK we are off, arrive at 6.15pm to find Daffyd with the gas. Shop closedat 6.00pm, "Good on ya mate" is all I can say! Won't always be if you keep referring to me as a 'Pounawean'. I'm a 'Papatowai'ian'!
