WTB: CBR400RR fuel cap and front discs.

My screwdriver operated fuel cap has given up the ghost. If anyone has one for sale for a reasonable price I am very interested. Key not required. While I'm posting I might as well explore if anyone has any discs they want to flick off as well.

Clive, does the existing cap still have the key barrell fitted??
If so,remove the complete cap, strip the barrell out of it & use a screwdriver into the base,my ZXR was like that for about 10years or more

Cheers bistard. I will give it a go. The barrell is still in there and have been operating it with a screwdriver. What you say makes perfect sense. I guess that something has broken of the barrell due to some rough, adreniline filled amateurs over-enthusiastic screw-driver application.

look again clive, the key barrel is removed. problem is that the bit at the bottom (don't know technical term) isn't retracting the pins that lock the cap in place. probably easier to get another cap - someone must have one.

I've got a gsxr one you could have, except pretty sure that the screw pattern is different.

Mmm. I'm no locksmith so my terminology may be incorrect, but it looks like the barrel is still there but has had the guts punched out with a screw-driver. I guess that bistard was suggesting that by removing the barrel completely, I may be able to operate the cap?

You're right svs. It's totaly poked. Got the rest of the barrel out today and the mechanism beneath it has disintegrated.
