Tyres for a commuter Honda VTR Firestorm or other twin

Hi Guys and Girls, im after peoples comments on tyre choice for a commuter vtwin and how much mileage you are getting from them. My bike had some mitchlien tyres on it when I brought it that were pretty new and I have chewed them out in about 4k, I would like something that can double that at the least so any help with tyre choice would be great.. just remember it is my commuter bike and I do round 60 - 70 k a day on it nearly everyday so they have to be a good alround tyre.

Hi Ant, try some Avon Azaro's, getting great mileage on them on a ZX12R and have seen them on VTR's before, theyre pretty reasonable all round tyres also....

I run Metzler Z6's on my bike, the front's now got 15000k's and the second rear has 8000k's, so another 1000k's left on the front & rear, I do run my tire pressures up there though.

Yeah, I have Azaros on my bike (VFR800): an AV49-SP front and AV46-ST rear, and had the same combo on my VTR1000 when I traded it in.
Or you could go for the new Avons - the Storms. From what I've heard they offer excellent grip (esp. in the wet) and very good mileage.

I'm gonna go back to a diablo strada after only getting 3-4 months out of the the diablo rear. Shame, cause the rear's got another track day in it. I'll stick with the diablo front for now. Good compromise between wear and "shit I need to stop"

Conti Road Attacks should give you good mileage. My rear has done over 12,000km now and probably has another 2,000km on it. They don't handle too badly either and good on both dry and wet.

This Muppet has done some Top speeds round corners trying to keep up with me on Z6 Front & rear & has never looked out of shape once . A Top Naki rider with tyres to match his Skills , just as well he never did my M1 front / Z6 rear combo he may have had a chance ? Nah have the M1 front back on the RSVR now so all will have to just watch & learn again LOL
