Coooooooolllll!
Only a Rat can win a Rat Race!
Golly ......
Saw David's story this morning. Very heavy stuff and very sobering.
Should be part of the road safety campaign here, too, and should be shown in driving and riding courses.

Yikes. Felt bad to watch.
Unfortunately, the reality is, 97mph on a public road is putting way too much trust in those using the road you're on.
An utter waste of someone who had no respect for himself or anyone else on the road at that time, will it make anyone change their riding style? I doubt it.
good post - brings you back to reality
Live long and prosper or ride a motorbike
I'm sure Katman will be along soon to comment but yes going that fast on a a little road with so many cars on it and the opportunity for them to turn off onto side roads was a bit silly on his part and sure the car driver should have been more observant too.
Cheers

I feel for the driver of the car. 29, two kids, sole breadwinner. In his statement apparently said he saw nor the biker nor the silver car.
And as a result gets convicted on a 'causing death' charge simply because the biker was doing warp 9.
Doing 97mph is foolish, and plenty of us are foolish. Doing it coming up to a major junction, oncoming traffic galore, with no room for error and no exit strategy whatever, is just.....
"It's hard to keep an open mind, when so many people are trying to put things in it"
i think you would "see" the bike but i think most people would not register that he was going twice as fast as most other traffic
Kinda why I don't road ride after having raced in the past. To enjoy riding I still want to go fast. And with the wife and baby it's just not worth it. Dirt bike for the next few years to come keep the edge off and maybe go back later.
I don't really agree. If I had seen this video 30 years ago (on VHS), when I would have considered 97mph to be slow, it might have been the wake up call that I needed. Fortunately for me, I learnt from the mistakes of others and survived those days.
I hope that many will benefit from this video, as it shows what we see foolish riders doing every day.
PHEW.....JUST MADE IT............................. UP"
