    My work computer box and 2x LCD monitors automatically switch.
    Thought the phone was but it's powered by the network plug.

    Okay Finn, what's up?

    Who the fuck wants a 110V welder? You'd be better off using a battery charger.Need 240V for a grunty welder.

    Blah

    looks like a few people were not listening in science class when your teacher tought everyone what the diferences between voltage, watts, amps etc are and their important relationships with each other....

    Sorry to burst anyones bubble but .... Watts (or [P]Power) is the problem.
    P=V*I Power = Volts * Current
    If you half the volts the current needs to double. Hence on a 10Amp circuit you have avaliable 2k4 Watts of energy
    If you plug your cell charger into a 230~240 circuit it draws 0.02A or 20 mA
    When you plug it into a 110~120 volt circuit it will draw .040A or 40mA
    You dont get something for nothing

    No but if this is going in the direction I anticipate... you'll have to pay extra for that nothing - a 240V to 100V step down tranny ain't free...

    Don't get too excited, it's really quite boring and has nothing to do with the price of electricity although we get ripped with that. Still, nothing a nuke plant wouldn't fix.
