Valentines - What are you gonna do?

Valentines - what is it gonna cost you this year? I don't consider myself to be a romantic kinda guy nor do I get into manufactured Merkin 'season's', I do however reckon that Valentines day is another good day to show 'em you do actually care. I don't go nuts (with cash or presents) but I do make a little effort. Doing things like getting a box of chocolates (she loves chocolate - I don't eat it), or maybe give her a foot rub, and send the kids off to their single aunties for the night (it's ok she usually needs some cheering up). Having a relationship usually means putting some sort of effort in...

The other side of the coin is that if you don't do or get something - it'll cost you. So what's it goona cost you?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Cheap one for me this year, my wife is overseas for 3 months and away from her home. She did however send me a package the other day consisting of chocolates, snacks, and some duty free cigarettes!

LOL - yeah... one nearly gets you enough for a quickie...

Go for it. The work printer does a nice job of it.

    Have some fun
"This certificate hereby entitles (insert name here)
    To (insert promise here)

Expiry date (one year from today)"

    Printed, cut out etc.

On paper means she can carry them in her purse... useful for the more intimate ones (don't forget to give her the gift of hard work too though...

Making dinner is a goodun, etc etc etc.

I have only once lived with someone who brought me presents and flowers and stuff (like valentines presents) and that was many moons ago.

    The other guys that I have lived with have not really liked to do the whole "Valentines Day" thing {commercial load of crap, grumble grumble}

The only ones that have, have been when I was single and they were trying to suck up or were trying to get into your pants.

So being the logical thinker that I am I figure that everyone is different for different reasons and I try to pretend that Valentines Day doesn't exist so that I won't be disapointed when I don't get anything!

Just my thoughts based on my experience.

Well my thoughts are if you need a specific day of the year
to make your loved one feel special or to feel special with "special"
treatment Then what happens the other
    364 days!? Its commercial BS

Nice words said daily to eachother - no flowers/chocolates etc.......thats us

Good points made! The quandry guys end up in is that we are "dammed if you do and dammed if you don't". Despite one's good motivations (assuming they are honourable and heartfelt) can end up being misinterpreted.
