so thats valentines, birthday, annevesary, xmas for the next 10years all into 1.
still works out more than $100 for valentines
$100 plus - my partner is worth every penny.
No more than $50 - That's enough without going nuts.
$5 gas station flowers - It's what you get, it's that you got something
My partner is worth more than money to me.
Get something? Shit, they got me - nothing else measures up!

I agree with Katwyn on this point!! A loving, caring, respecting relationship, when you show your partner that you love them.. happens every single day, with the normal grind of daily life.. in the things that you do & say.. 365 days of the year!![]()
For myself personally, as a person who loves to celebrate 'special events' however, I would go just a little bit further for that one day, that is specifically designated to celebrate the one you love!![]()

I've ignored Valentines day for 30 years, and I'll keep on ignoring it.Sometime around now is our wedding aniversary too....and I ignore that one as well.Being unromantic must be a good thing,as I don't have an ex screwing me for child support like most of the guys on this site.

It's Mrs Oakie's birthday on the 21st and our wedding anniversary on the 27th so I reckon I'll ignore the 14th. In the words of Meatloaf "Two out of three ain't bad".

Fark I must be a bit soft then?? I tell my wife that I love her and I get her little gifts that she doesn't expect from time to time + the 'little' things (cups of tea etc.) I do that all year 'round. I dunno, I don't make a super extra special effort but I do make sure that she gets something at the office and that makes sure I look pretty damn good to all the girls there! I've got too many faults to mention so I kinda figure it's a good trade off.

Mothers Day, Fathers day,Valentines day, trick or treat and increasingly : "thanksgiving". Just more crap from America to go along with cocacola, golden arches, war on terror. I dont like it. I don't need a "day" invented by marketing geeks to get me to spend money on junk.
God I must be so UNLOVED - what about the folk that are single - they don't exist (sob sob) do they - not even in the poll.
I wonder who I could bribe to send me something NICE!! lol
