We're a bit financially strapped right now (not that we go overboard for Valentine's Day anyway) so we agreed to limit it to a card each and fish and chips on the beach if it's fine. Last night I was out by the woodshed when he came home and caught him trying to hide a small bunch of flowers! He'd also bought me a bottle of wine (he doesn't drink) and this morning I not only got a little box of my favourite Guylian chocolates, but he'd also been in and collected a magazine I have ordered every month! So much for NOT doing anything this year...
I felt a bit guilty as I had taken him at his word, so I ducked into town and bought him a sunshade for the car (he'd bought one from the $2 shop and it was crap - too floppy and wouldn't stay in the window!) and I've just made him a cheesecake as he loves them. And I'll shout the fish and chips tonight!
We decided last year to just buy something small or go out for a meal on Valentine's Day as my birthday is March 3 and our wedding anniversary is March 5, so otherwise it turns out to be quite expensive!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
