It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
more then likely...12.5% on anything over $1000NZ...should be DUTY exempt.
I'd be prepared for some kinda extra charge, due the weight of the package...special delivery and all that.
I would expect so. you might be lucky though, i have had more than one package come through and dodge gst

have a look in here to find out, or ring them.
Isn't it over $399, or rather, where the tax collected amounts to $50+?
/edit: But yeah, email them, they replied within a couple of days to me with everything I needed![]()
that website says motorcycle parts are 'free'... do you count an engine as a 'part'

motorcycle parts are 0% duty but where something valued at greater than $400 (including freight) = $50+ GST they will collect. (the GST that is)
You'll need to check whether a full engine is counted as a motorcycle part.
I had to pay GST on some Motorcycle forks worth $500NZ.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Isn't secondhandstuff exempt from gst?
No duty but have to pay GST.
Used to be if the GST part was $45 or more.
so i tell them to write on the crate that i got it for $150US not $1500 and i wont have to pay it?
