Well I put in about 54hrs a week, but come the 26th of March that goes down to 0! Time for a bit of a break, spend some time with the family. What next? Who knows, but I'll find something.
Work??? Bah stuff that...
A couple hours...
20-40 hours...
41-60 hours...
61-90 hours...
Im a crazy bastard that has no life and no sleep, 90+ hours...

I used to work 40 hours per week, but it made me tired and irritable. Then I quit and rested for 3 years (not on dole).and came back as a freelancer for my original employer and others. Now I get the same dosh for 10 hours per week.
Have to have my "me" time.
I have 2 jobs.... One of which I do a 40 hours during weekdays.... My 2nd job the hours depend.... But I usually end up doing 60-70 hours all up... Over 7 days a week.....
The good thing is that my boss at the bar knows when I'm tired and knows when I need to take a whole weekend off... Which happens once in a while... Just so I can recharge and start the whole process over again...
I work those hours not because I have to.. But because I want to... I've found my health has been so much better since I took on longer hours.... I sleep easier... And eat ALOT more which has been fantastic for me.... There are things I would like to own in life and so working harder in order to have those things is a must.... Once I reach my target I'll then cut back on my hours and relax....
Til then....
i work 5 on 4 off 10.5 hr shifts permanent nights (broken by 1 week day shift in 16). more otis than you can handle, no pressure to do any though. not uncommon to do a run of 7 on 2 off for a month but usually trashed after that. i fly one full day in my days off - 6 hours flying yesterday, and sometimes put in a few hours flying before work doing sunset jumps. i also fly a medivac plane when needed.
this year will be 2080 normal hours, with about 350 o/t on top, but i have done (worked) a month in aussie and 3 weeks in the states, and had 5 weeks holiday, 3 of those in the uk. life's not too bad - at least i don't have to break my holidays and days off by having to go to court and watch the wheels of justice slowly turn
For years my husband and I built up a business. The business became 24 hrs a day. One point we worked long crazy hours 7 days a week for about 8 months (never again). Then just long hours 5 -6 days a week. the business was not in a position at that time to employ people, so there was no choice but to do it all ourselves.
I don't really know how many hours a week I work these days. It can still get crazy for me but I have weekends off and mornings or afternoons off if I feel like it. The business is more of a lifestyle than work really.

I'm a full time mum to three kids. Two at school during the day, one who is two. I would say, I work 24/7 because I am always on call. There a weeks, esp during winter, when I dont even leave the house, because they get sick or whatever. Nope dont get paid either. Am looking for a part time job at the moment, so I can get out of the house and have more adult contact. The worse thing is I dont get sick leave.

Looking after three kids deserves a medal in my book. I don't have a family, but can certainly imagine how busy and financially tough it must be. I hope you are getting supported by someone in all that!
I had a window into that feeling a few years ago when I was babysitting my 6 month old niece at my house. I had a wopping migraine headache and felt ill and just wanted to sleep etc. But I had a grizzly child to tend to.
It got me thinking about fulltime mums .... who are only human and get sick at times....they still have to be a mum and submit to childrens demands regardless of if they are feeling so ill they can hardly lift a finger.
Hats off to all you mums and dads that go it alone or that have no choice when they are ill.

But I do get sick... I remember I got a bug once, was throwing up constantly and felt tired. All I could do was lie down in bed with the doors open, and let the kids run riot.... the house was a bit of a mess, but at that stage I really didnt care. Didnt get any rest, not with 3 kids jumping on my bed, but wasnt much I could do about it.
