    What's happening here guys?

Can someone tell me what's going on with my rear tyre?
Pilot Power. Have tried all pressures in one pound increments from 36lbs to 42lbs none of which makes any difference, nor does the ambient temp on the day.
Tyre does move about a bit particularly if I am a bit diffident with the throttle (lots of the time - some of you have seen me ride!). Does tend to clean up a bit on a track day otherwise is like this regardless of the distance travelled.
Took the photo today after a 250k ride (Whakamaru, Old Taupo rd, Hodderville, Arapuni, Wharepapa South, Makakino and home - i.e. lotsa twisties)
Did not have this patterning with the last Pilot Power although it did move about a bit as well (on the road).
Could this be a set up problem or possibly I just need to learn to ride properly?

i'm no expert but they look fine to me. I went through a couple of sets of pilot powers on my old tlr1000, loved them, they got way more shredded than that, but they stuck like shit to a blanket, wet or dry.
when are you getting movement? braking or sliding out of corners?
it might be your suspension setup as opposed to the tyres.

Me "sliding out of corners" is a bit of a Tui ad mate! Wobble would be a more appropriate word..!

The last set I had were "clean" and showed no sign of "rippling" right to the end. Admittedly I am riding the bike a bit quicker than I was with the first set. Have heard of others complain of movement from the Powers, though only on the road, on the the track they are rock solid. I think Sensei has changed to a Pilot Sport rear for the same reason.
At this stage I haven't had the chance to get accross to New Plymouth yet - (having to be a temporary Aucklander for a week or three while one of my therapists is on sick leave).

That wear pattern looks good, it tends to go that way with hard acceleration!

I put a set on my Z and found them to move around so much it was unsettling, had to throw them off after 300km. TLDV8 took them off me and has no problem with them!

If it feels ok on the track but a bit squirmy on the road then maybe the thing isn't heating up enough. 36psi is still quite a reasonable pressure so you could look at dropping it a few more pound. This will let the tyre deform slightly more and put a bit more heat into it.
It may feel a little squirmy for the first few k's until it heats up but it's worth a try.
    My 2c anyway.

    What are you running now?

I had some Pirelli Super Corsas on mine, a 190/55 rear, and did it track nicely in the corners.
Then I got a puncture and now I've got a Metzeler on it. Don't like it...
May bite the bullet and go for more Pirellis...

That wear looks fine mate and probably just reflects that you are riding a bit more aggresively. Pretty soon you'll be dissapointed if they aren't a little shredded.

Someone told me the other day most modern bike tyres are 2 compound softer on the edges than in the middle so will rip up a little said it was normal though.

Sorry kant help you with wear pattern I can never read tyres but I have noticed with these tyres that they do slide in dusty conditions only noticed when a mate in front of me was kicking up a small amount of dust off the road in front of me , he was tracking true and I was sliding. Appart from that I've found them to be pretty good tyres .

Running these myself & the pattern looks fine & dandy to me. But Im no expert on reading tyre wear.
Interested to hear you mention the movement issue. These puppies have never done anything unexpected on me yet. Solid as
