I've got one and really like it. Although some have knocked the multi layer set up it suits me down to the ground. After close to 18 months it hasn't leaked, has kept me warm on frosty mornings and come summer you can remove the 2 inner layers, stash the membrane under the seat in case the weather turns to shit, open the vents and stay nice and cool.
Not cheap but well made and easily the most versatile jacket I've had. Everything else I've tried has been either too hot in summer or not warm enough in winter.
If you look on Ebay you can find stores listing this jacket for considerably less than quoted even with shipping taken into account. Local shops will often offer a discount if you print off the details and ask them how much they want your business.

Kerry at MCSW (Motorcycle Safety Wear) in St Kevin's arcade, Karangahape Road will make you a suit to your size for around $1500. The deisgns she has are really good and she has all the latest armour technology and strong zips.

It all depends upon your budget, but if you are not an off the peg size, Kerry will do a great job for you and Kiwi hand made is always going to be better than mass produced.

You will find that most brands are hand made, the big boys might have a wizz bang sewing machine but I dont, have 5 people that make mine in the factory, weather Kiwi hand made is better than massed produced is kinda debatable to, depends on what components kerry uses, what armour system and what leather grade. I can whack up a custom color custom made suit for $1495 and I would lay money on it as being far superior to anything out of New Zealand
Ive run out of fucks to give

thanks for the replys guys, I'm not after a total suit and i need to be able to wear it most work days and some weekends, so I need something that is very versatile. Im not opposed to using textile, but I might have to look into that as I have found out the price of this jacket, and haven't been able to find out if I can get a discount, I think i might just import it into nz myself at least I will save myself at least $200 off the retail price they are charging here !
