BOP CC 8th Annual Poker Run

Bay Of Plenty Coastal Cruisers 8th Annual Poker Run is starting from The Lodge, Ngamuwahine Rd, Lower Kaimais East this year.

Gates will be open from 4pm Friday, and the live band that night is "Vivid".
The Poker Run it's self departs from The Lodge at 11am Saturday, so even if you didn't stay there overnight it is important to get there in plenty of time to join the ride and to draw your first poker hand card. The Run this year is over 200Km long with three stops along the way to draw 3 more cards for your hand before returning to The Lodge for your last card (and with a bit of luck could saw you with a winning hand.
Saturday nights entertainment encludes 2 bands ("Gary Harvey Band" and "Helmet In The Bush"), a Fireshow, Male and Female Strippers, a "Ms Foxy Flasher" and "Mr Biker Stud" competition (were the amertures are encouraged to strut their stuff for a $200 cash prize), plus poker hand and spot prizes.
You get all this for a $30 Prepaid entry + a Poker Run Badge. Tent sites are free, but The Lodge's dorm beds are $10/bed pre-paid and are booking out fast.
Enquiries: Derryn Torrence, BOP CC Treasurer ph 07 5710385 OR send a Self Addressed Envelope and Cheque to: BOP Coastal Cruisers, P.O. Box 9239, Tauranga.
NB: see attached flyer (2004 BOP CC PR.jpg)

PS: RIB here. I'm know as "Nursey" in the BOP CC's (don't ask ). This run is fairly popular and I have been on one with over 500 bikes. The bikers are fairly mixed bunch on this run but are mainly Cruisers and Trumpies. Don't let this suck you in to thinking that these runs a boring they aren't

Pretty sure it's a staight $30 for the run, whether you stay for the rest or not.
It would be good to see you there. I'll be busy being the Tail-end Charlie as first responce if there is any accidents (Joys of being a RN, hence the "Nursey" nick). None last year, thank goodness, but have seen this happen on these kind of runs before.

the first one of theres i did like 5 years ago i think there was 10 crashes, and that doesn't count i think the 10 harleys that broke/fell apart

i just don't like there idea of stopping at pubs for every stop and then at the pub for 1 1/2 hours stuffing around,

Due to the farmer i am working for doing his back in, I was unable to go to The BOP CC Poker Run. my follow BOP CC members rung me to let me know how it went (@ 7am on a Sunday f*cken Morning, Thanks Dudes ). There was no accidents this year (again) (and only the odd HD broke down ). Sounds like I missed a f*cken good ride I will see if they got some pics for me to post here.

They also told me that they got a good responce from Bikers who had seen the ride advertised here on KB, so a big thanks is due to SpankMe for provide this site for us bikers to use Thanks heaps SpankMe on behalf of the BOP Coastal Cruisers

From what I saw (lots) they seemed well behaved on the road. In fact, the only fuckwit I saw on a bike on Sat was on a Ducati going along Cambridge road, passing 3 cars around a blind corner. Bluddy-near had a duck for a hood ornament on the ute.

Na, cann't have been me. Been to busy in Whangarei to have gone past the Bryn's. The only biking I've got in has been between milkings (and often that has been to go and trim some horses hooves ).
Looking forward to Oct as I finnish with milking and calving (ya:spudwave: ).

I going to have a crack at the Rust Nuts MC's Grand Challange I start another thread about that (if there isn't one already.

As for the BOP CC's, I feel that they have been given a bad rap with "the coaster killers" nick. They really looked after me when I was in Tauranga last year (hence why I am still a member). They are the best bunch of "Good Bastards" I have ever meet. There are not many MC's where BEARS and Jappers; Crusiers, Tourers, and Sports riders hang-out and ride together (to bad I cann't seem to find a MC like them around Whangarei).
