That was a craze on Waiheke over 10yrs ago, every parked car had a smashed rear screen.I came to work yesterday to find my workshop doors graffitied - the cost from theft and vandalism in this country must be huge.........my minds just gone on a big hatekillallthescumbags binge,I better shut up before I hurt someones feelings.

They do the rounds of the Shore as well! Guy I worked for had his Daughters car and his work Landcruiser done on different occaisions and a friend had the Boarders car and her letterbox done!
Would be good to do all the windows on their vehicles - preferably with them inside - before you started on them (whoever they are)

Sometimes the dedication to the tagger's cause impresses me mightily.

Case in point, the Department of Conservation dunnies at the East Cape lighthouse. 30km of no-exit road -- a 60km return trip. From Te Araroa -- the butt-fuck capital of nowhere. 20km of gravel in the journey -- coming and going, 40km total. The Te Araroa store doesn't sell paint bombs, these would have to be procured at Ruatoria (the closest point of purveyance). The dunnies? You guessed it. Tagged.

This was no spontaneous act. Whoever was responsible set out with deliberate intent to tag said conveniences and was prepared to invest at least half a day in the pursuit of such, not to mention the cost of gas and paint.

If this enterprising endeavour good be harnessed by the Forces of Good, imaging what value could be added to our communities...

    DO NOT get me started.
lack of responsibility to the community and family is one of the biggest social problems we face. This is one of my biggest soapboxes of all time.

It's not ONE of the biggest. Its THE biggest.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Motu, you are going to have to consider moving to some other premises, it sounds like a ghetto round your workshop. I totally don't blame you for having negative feelings around the &*#'s that keep messing with your workshop. Theft and vandalism is tolerated by so many people in this country, I honestly think that if a right hand was removed from the offenders, it would make a big difference over time. Bring back capital punishment, the birch, the ducking stool, and corporal punishment I say!!

I have nothing against graffiti art in the right place... when it is mindless scrawling of your name on the side of a building that annoys me You must admit that when talents are focused in an appropriate manner, the results can be quite impressive.

Yeah,my area has certainly gone downhill over the years - originaly settled after WWII as a fresh subdivision,no power, dirt roads - it is now almost inner city, the old folks are either in old folks homes or dead,we have,um...new,settlers here now, they have lived in other worlds...it's now my world, thanks Helen.

Milky,in days of yore graffity was fun,it was political slogans and slander - but how long since you've seen graffity you can read? Bring back literate graffity artists...if ya wanna come down and paint something interesting on my doors, please do so!

Could be worse- we could live somewhere like America where if the taggers hurt thier finger, or someone busts themselves up while wrecking your stuff, they sue you- and win !!!
