    Clear Coat

    how do you get rid of the shit? have quite a bit of alloy thats covered in clear coat which has turned to shit from weathering the years, and I want to get it back to bare metal

    Scotchbite, steel wool (pot cleaner stuff with soap in them) or very fine wet and dry. Use water with the steel wool and wet and dry. Finish off with a smattering of Solvo Autosol metal polish and old rag.

    Sellys paint stripper.
    Just melts the stuff.
    Then after polishing, recoat with POR15.

    The best stripper (paint, you dirty bastards) I've used is POR15 stripper.
    It's the same price as Sellies'but goes much further and is far less toxic.
