    Stupid dentists

right so today while at work i stupidly managed to chip a piece about the size of my lil finger nail off my wisdom tooth..... so off to the detist i went....now a few months ago i was in there getting a clean and he recond my wisdom teeth were sweet and nothing to worry about...now this!!!! so now of course i have to have this one out and might as well get the other one out at the same time....

everyone at work keeps telling me horror stories about having these teeth pulled...just wondering what stories you lot out in KB land have about getting yours out? cost? pain? shit goin wrong? stuff like that....

ps:worst thing about it is at the momment it hurts to where a helmet

Ok firstly..... How did you manage to chip your wisdom tooth....? Depending how you did it it could have been ACC worthy......

Managed to crack half of one of my front teeth off when I decided to faceplant a dashboard... Have it capped now... And all covered by ACC for any future problems with it...

In the long run.... Just get the damn thing pulled... One expense... Saves alot more in futrue....

I can tell you a horror story with one of mine. The dentist took two hours to get it out, he almost had his boot in my mouth and he had to smash it in the end. The local was wearing off too!!! He also slipped with the pliers and cut the lower part of my gum - more stitches!!!! Then I spent the next 24 hours bleeding like a stuck pig. Not nice!!!

Mine were sweet! Yeah sure I was a bit tender for a couple of days but they came right pretty quick. The most painful part was paying for them. All it took was a bit of sedative and sleepy sleepy then presto! Mouth full of gauze... all good after a couple of days...

I spent $16,000 getting my teeth sorted after shit work for years by UK dentist.....................but I sued him and got my money back.

Teeth are so important and need looking after..........not cheap but lots of issues if you don't.

I went tried to book into local dentist to have wisdom extracted, but there was a 6 week wait. I went to next to Tauranga Accident & Healthcare clinic (2nd ave) and they had the buggers out the same day. $400 to have tooth extracted at short notice in Taupo (not me) but cost $240 to get my two wisdom out in Tauranga short notice. Both my wisdom had nasty long hooks and they were dug out of the gum. There wasnt actually anything wrong with them, they just did what wisdoms tend to do and they never made it out properly to start with. I took a few extra shots of the numbie stuff more then norm' to keep them quite. The dentists here will make you wait 6 weeks even if your in pain. I will not be using them again. I recommend the place I went to. There was nothing I could fault. People were nice, price was good, process was quick, and they booked me in the same day

Ooooerrrrr I don't like visits to the dentist. Good luck for when you go in.

I think with ACC you have to file the claim asap.... With mine its saved me a fair bit... Considering I have to go back and get my tooth re-capped once in a while....

Just pay the $120-160 and get it done and done with..... Will hurt for a while.. But least you'll be able to drink hot/cold drinks and not cringe (if the nerves showing)

Believe me if the nerve shows it hurts for a long long time.... (almost 2 years for mine) Get the problem sorted now...

    Goodluck...

P.S Keep yah tooth, you never know the tooth fairy might pay you a visit!!!!!
