    Clutch issue

About 80% of the time when I pull in the clutch lever on my KTM660 it will only engage on about the last quarter of pull. There is very little resistance. I'm not very savvy when it comes to mechanical problems. Does this sound like a problem with the plates or could the hydraulic fluid need bleeding or replacing?

    Thanks.

    hydralic system, not the plates.

Either it needs a bleed, or most likely the slave cylinder has had some water in it causing some corrosion at the bottom of the system (where the water collects being heavier) which has worn out the seal. Or the master cylinder, same deal.

both are easy to fix with a new seal kit if required & a dress up of the cylinder. Not the best thing to start learning on unless you have aptitude for this sort of thing.
Don't you look at my accountant.

    Thumbs up

Thanks Dave, I'll get it looked at. It wouldn't be such an issue if the bike wasn't kickstart only. The clutch issue has caused me to stall the thing on a few occasions and it's a bitch to kick over.
