    Question New Masterlink???

I just changed my chain and sprockets yesterday on my cbr250.

I got a clip type masterlink with the chain and when I was putting it on I noticed that it was bloody hard to get the bloody side plate on.

Cutting the long story short I tried several times to put the clip on before the side plate was properly on the links and stretched the clip out. I simply stretched the clip back to original shape and sucessfully put it on later after pushing the side plate in further (and broke 3 warehouse G clamps)

The question is, can the clip go through the abuse of being stretched out then being bent back? should I get a new masterlink put on? doing a trip to Auckland tomorrow so really need to get it sorted today...

    Thanks in advance

never mind. Decided to play safe and got a new one... Oh and a bench vice to help me put it on...

[edit] - tips for anyone replacing their chain for the first time with clip type master link. - make sure you put the plate all the way in before you put the clip on. Otherwise you'll end up like me looking funny.
