I've got a pile of policies with state. I claimed on my cage policy after some woman drove into me. All done on the one phone call, the car was at the beaters the next day.

Kiwibike are brokers not insurers. However they organised my insurance with Swann who approved repairs to my bike within a week of my bin

Just waiting on parts from Japan though

I too have all my insurance with state, I have had claims before both my fault and not, and never had any problems.

now I have cool perks like free unlimited glass on my car and house, all for being loyal.

    thank you state

Go see my mrs (AA Porirua) she'll hook you up with AA insurance. They have specific motorcycle insurance and if you have AA plus membership you get motorcycle breakdown assistance as well.

Do AA do a very good deal because they wont insure me until I get my full but am thinking of changing to them when I get it because all our other insurance is with them.

In 1988 my wife spun, rolled, then flipped our 6 month old $31,000 car. It should have benn written off, but State had it repaired with second hand parts. The repair wasn't good, and after getting the car back from the panel beaters it did not feel safe to drive. State claimed it was up to WOF standard and that was good enough. We traded it in on another new car and only received $13,000 as a trade in. The poor trade in price was because the car had obviously been in a major accident and still required a lot of work. State wouldn't acknowledge that the car hadn't been restored to its pre accident condition.

We gave up fighting State, cut our losses, and simply changed insurance companies. However, for the rest of my life I will advise people not to deal with State Insurance. They are the worst company in New Zealand when it comes to claims.

My brother a few years back had an 88 laser 2 door. Parked outside his work this woman high on drugs plowed into it embedding her car in to his that her front bumper was where his handbrake was.

Due to it being an agreed value policy $5000, quote for repair was $4500. State opted to repair the car!!!!!!!!!!!

8 weeks pass, brother rings repairer to ask where his car is. Guy replies that it is in Howick (repairer is in Onehunga). Turns out a place in Howick was $10 a side cheaper to install the rear struts than the Onehunga repairer so they sent a tow truck to pick it up and take it to Howick to have these bits fitted then picked it up and took it back to Onehunga.

Eventually got the car back, never drove properly again so he flogged it off.

And from stories I have heard for people I know watch out if you have an accident between two customers of State!

I have all insuracne with State except my bike, they have been great to deal with for the minor car scrape but chose not to use them for the bike cover as they wanted to charge me $947 a year, so i went with Swan Insurance $432 a year for same cover.
