heard some interesting storys in my job, of ships in the middle of oceans.
and some arn't even in middle some are really bad ones from ships just travelling between nz/aussie
Dunno about ships but we've just completed work on the underpass for the Wellington Airport runway extension. If you're around the area have a look at some of the rocks that get 'chucked' up into the wash pit. They had to move one with the 10 tonne lift crane. That's not even at sea where waves get proper sized.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them

OOOh i feel ill
never catch me out in more than about one meter swell and never without my Pahia bombs
I work on a boat, and I am glad I don't go out where the waves get that big! Cook Strait gets pretty mean, but people tend to stay in harbour when actual green water is washing over the side.
