    Angry Rude trademe buyer... grrr!

My auction (for a pet fish!) finished last night at 7:02pm. I just checked my email and found the following three messages waiting for me:

    ______________________________________________

    12:07pm:
    Hi there
Pls give me your bank details so I can deposit the money thru internet
banking. Thanks. Also pls give me your phone number to arrange the time of
    delivery of the fish.
    Danny

    2:51pm:
This is my second email message for you. pls give me your phone to arrange
the delivery. thanks. I can pay by internet banking.
    Danny
    ______________________________________________

    2:53pm:
If you don't reply that soon I might cancel the business with you. thanks
    anyway for the effort
    ______________________________________________

What an obnoxious person! If I don't reply to his email within 3 hours (on a sunny Sunday) he starts threatening to cancel the transaction. The last thing I want to do now is give him my phone number and address (the auction clearly stated the fish was to be picked up by the buyer).

I think I'd better calm down before I reply.

Be cool calm and collective... reply to his email and make it look like he is a complete cock sucking idiot...

Thank you for your bid, and you have won the auction.

Also thank-you so much for your emails however, as you are aware it is a sunday and not every one has the sunday off... some of us actually work, or are out and about doing other things, we don't all live at our computers 24/7, some of us actually have a life.

I have just got home and recieved your emails, all stating the same thing... this is classed as spam and could be reported to the authorities. Sending the secon and third email (2 minutes apart will make no difference... it will not speed things up in any sense of the matter. It has only been a couple of hours since the auction and the fish are not going anywhere.

Blah blah blah... you get the point... if he cancels then you get tell Trademe get your fee refunded and relist the auction (done that many a times...) tell as it is straight to the point

The buyer sounds like a bit of a tosser all right. When I sell something I get an e-mail saying "Allow up to 3 days for the buyer to contact you." Haven't bought anything for a while, but I'm sure the buyer gets a similar e-mail.

    Hey jerk-wad ... it's 3 days, not three minutes!

PS - are you sure that you want your nice fishie to go and live with such a twat?

I'm selling some shoes for my sister and I listed them as grey David Elman shoes - THREE people have posted asking "hi, what colour are the shoes?"

It was worse when I was selling my bike last year. It was a BMW F650CS so some tosser emailed me a list of about a dozen F650GS models for sale throughout the country, and said that one recently sold for $9000 in Nelson so why was I asking $11,995 for mine? Some of the ones on his list were 18 year old really rough dirt bikes and mine was a two year old road bike with ABS, heated grips, etc! And I got bloody sick of the emails from people saying "FYI one just like this was in my local bike shop for ages and sold recently for $8000" - big deal, it wasn't MY bike and it wasn't in the same condition or with the same low mileage and all the options!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I'm actually selling several fish. I bought a tank off trademe but the guy couldn't get rid of the fish so I paid him some extra $$ and took the fish too. But they're all big humungous things that aren't compatible with my friendly little community so I knew I would have to sell them.

The auction that just finished was for a silver arowana (the guy got an absolute bargain). I still need to sell a bichir lungfish, a spotted pleco and two pacus (which I'm giving away for free - anyone want a pair of large vegetarian piranhas?)

Too late, I already replied. I tried to stay cool and calm but...
I definitely should have waited for your suggestion because my email went like this:

"Are you always this rude to people you're trading with?

I don't spend all day on the internet, so I have only just seen your
    messages.

I notice you sent your first email at 12:07pm today. In less than three
hours you are already threatening to cancel the transaction because I
haven't replied. I am willing to continue with the trade, although I'm
reluctant to give my phone number and contact details to someone who lacks
basic good manners. Are you interested in continuing with this transaction
or would you prefer to continue being rude and obnoxious?"

d'oh! Shoulda waited until I calmed down!

Thanks for the reminder - I'll take a look at the email I received from the site and see what it says. And if this was a pet fish that I had become fond of, I would definitely be having second thoughts about his ability to look after it. One thing fish-keeping teaches you is that you need patience - and he's sadly lacking there.

Oh, by the way Leong, my own fish are clown loaches, bristlenose catfish, rosey and gold barbs and neon tetras. The tank I've just bought is 4 ft long (trading up from a 3-footer because the clowns need more room as they grow).

Here's an old pic of my 3-foot tank - it now has more plants and more driftwood so it looks a lot different. The wood with a hole in it is where my biggest clown (Hatu-Patu) hides when his brothers are chasing him.

PM sent. It would be excellent if you could provide a home for these fish! They really are too big for my tank and I'm happy for them to go free to a good home.

Yeah, they have to be some of the craziest fish I've ever kept. The whole lying on the side thing is freaky, even when you've been warned that they'll do it. Also that clicking noise they make is a bit freaky when you first hear it. Nobody expects fish to be noisy!

the clicking noise is them flicking stones searching for snails and food

That's a nice aquarium! Lots of light so I can imagine more plants and that rotala requiring lots of trimming! We have clown loaches too, oldest fish we have... about 6yrs. Actually the clicking noise is made by the fish themselves when they have their little disagreements. No clicking if you only have one!

I've cut down to 3 tanks now - had seven at one stage.

    1. 5.5ft Cichlid tank with foot-long Oscar, six gold severums, 4in Jaguar, baby Jack Dempsey and a few others. Could accomodate your pacus if nobody else wants them and if they get on with my fish - how big are they?

    2. 4ft tank with a single occupant - a foot-long Geophagus Brasiliensis which has murdered any other supposedly compatible tankmates

    3. 4ft CO2 injected Discus Display tank.

Still I'm finding it a bit time consuming looking after these when I'd rather be out on the bike. Photos are of the Discus tank as it was a while back, and an old three foot tank that's with my cousin now.

If anyones interested I have 3 x 2ft tanks and assorted filters/heaters etc available free to any interested KB member (pickup only). Ideal beginner or quarantine tanks.
