    March Hare Kiwibiker Picnic

OK you lot who are coming to the Hare, theres a few of us from around Dunedin that thought that, seeing as how we are keen to do a ride somewhere on Saturday, we should introduce some extra fun by having a picnic.

The idea is an "upmarket picnic" in a remote location which we'll agree on once we get together. By upmarket we mean bring something a bit different - what that is is up to you, but things like unusual cheeses, olives and other shit like that in small bottles, smoked salmon/eels etc - one of our members already has the possum testicles covered so you don't need to bring them, and obviously something to drink (which might have to be tempered a bit because we still have to ride).

This should be fun and a good conversation starter and chance for old and new members to meet away from the rally site - however I can also feel the barbed wit of the KB fraternity ready to take pot shots at me, so fire away I think I'm ready!!

It will end in tears...no one likes following instructions. You have been warned.

About what time are you thinking of do this?

Because some of us are riding down on the Saturday and may like to make it to the picnic as well.
And will not know where to go, if you are going to make up your mind on the day.
So will have to arrive at the site or where ever in time, to know where to ride for the picnic.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Is there anyone with some local knowledge that could help?? - needs to be a sealed road route 'cos some don't do gravel.
Ideally a picnic ground with a bit of shade although a country pub with a nice outdoors setting would also work pretty well?? (what do you think?)
A non pub location could be a picnic ground just below the Waitaki dam?

Sounds like it should be an afternoon thing - if anyone who's gone up on Friday feels like a morning ride then hopefully you can still link up for the afternoon. I reckon we probably want to get away reasonably early in the afternoon as I presume there'll be plenty of things happening at the rally from later in the afternoon?

So how about we plan on leaving the site at 1:30pm??

Would be great to have a location sorted before Friday so we all know where to end up - so if you have any ideas........
