Bike looks a bit damaged...Hope you and the bike are all OK? Saw you spectating at the hairpin...

You also made me jump start in that first race! You were between my line of sight to the lights. You jumped and I copied you.
Got a 20 second penalty but fortunately the next guy behind was more than 20 seconds so didn't lose a place.

Surprisingly the second 20 lapper was a bit easier than the first. But STILL bloody exhausting. I think I have never been so shattered after that first 20 lapper!

Started the weekend OK. The bike had new rubber, and other go fast goodies applied. Better tourqe, quality traction, and down shifting with ease. Qualified 15th. Jumped the start, never seen those new fangled lights before. Stop. lights all out. Go. Make a good start into the first corner, then quietly get picked off over the next few laps to be at the back of the second bunch. I knew I had to hang at the tail of these guys to keep my pace up, settled in, making up time in the infeild and having them pull away on the straights. Going into the hairpin fifth lap I come off the brakes too fast, front poped up as I tipped in. Front end gets lost in space. Me too.
Bother.

Bike is abit beat up, it needs a new tank, weld the subrame, brake resivior etc etc new leathers bla bla bla.

I am planning on getting the thing going again, stick it on a dyno just too see where its at. Then decide wether to build a better motor, and bolt on USD front end or put it back on the road and find something else to race (thinking sv650)

What do you all rekon?

600s mate, what up with all these people wanting to go F3 from 600SS??? Madness I say! You have tasted of the goodness of almost in controll, and no 110 horsepower SV could match the feeling...

I'm just after a bit more of a even playing feild, the development of the 600's over the past few years has been increasing faster than my wallet can keep up. My assometer suspects my bike is doing almost 105hp at the rear, and with the latest bikes claming 120+hp, I've got to spend (I suspect) $2-3k on the motor to get another (hopefully) ten ponies out of the thing (plus a new clutch). This will bring with it reliability issues as well. Plus up grade the forks and brakes to current specks. Maybe Shaun could comment on this?

Hopefully MNZ will make the rules for F3 clear and stick with them for abit. There has been mutterings of a class within a class in F3 of stock bikes, with end can, air filter and suspension changes only. This sounds pretty attractive to me.

The top f2 guys are about 2 secs a lap faster than they were a few years ago and the f3 guys are about the same or slower.

Anyways, I've got lots of time to think about it, cause I've got lots of pennies to save, which ever way I go.

yours should be more than 105, that was an uncorrected figure on my K2....
The pursuit of speed is an expensive one alas...
suzook K6 600 stock is supposed to be around the 114 horse mark, with the yamahas a tad higher? 117 I think is claimed for the 07 kwaka.
Not a lot in it, and it would be interesting to see what the dyno really says...
I am tempted to go that route next bike upgrade, and then try and absolutely ride the tits off essentially a stock bike. Like training for swimming wearing shorts and a T shirt, the extra drag pulls you up to speed quicker.

Thats my current theory anyway, might change if I make a million in the next 8 months or so.
