Have a couple of questions that I can't find addressed in reviews:
1. If you push one of the direction buttons on the keypad, do they shortcut to things like messaging, address book, calendar etc? ...and are they configurable?
2. What shows on the display when the phone is in standby? I like that my old N-Gage showed the time quite clearly and also if there was a missed call or message.
3. Easy to change between the ring-volume profiles?
I would have a look at a real one but I'm pretty sure that none of the stores down here stock them.
Cheers in advance.

dunno never really bothered - as u push 1 button and it changes from 4 options in main screen to 9 in the menu.

screensaver/screen goes dim. Not really sure of what you mean

Volume control on left hand side, mute in bottom right. everything in 1 push

1. From a blank normal screen (not menu) on Nokias and Sony (I think) you just push left and you're straight into writing a txt, down and you're in the contacts, right and you're in the calendar. Just shortcuts I guess.
2. When the screensaver goes dim on the Sony and N-Gage the backlight is off, but there is a lcd image of the time and icons representing missed messages etc. Example: leave your phone on the desk and leave for 10mins, come back....do you see anything on the screen or is it completely blank?
Cheers once again.

1) down contacts, up shortcuts, left camera, right calender - i hardly ever use em, but wouldnt supprise me if u can customise em. will play round 2nite.
2) screen goes completely blank - no clock etc like the nokias/sagem etc. But in saying that i'd say its part of the whole power save thing as it doesnt even turn on the keypad led's until it gets dark. And battery last me about twice as long as my nokia and about the same time as my sagem. You can set reminders however for missed calls etc. So if i miss a txt etc i have it that it vibrates every min to remind me.
Over all it is a very fancy phone with very simple features. i really only got it cos it was slim and had a metal case

Yeah I'll admit that Im like the form over the features. I just wanted bluetooth mainly and my Nokia that I hastily bought doesn't have it.
Have any problems txting with it? I notice that the keys don't line up, and some reviews (can't find now) think its a difficulty.
actually to be honest txting is really easy as there are no individual buttons so going from 1 key to the next is easy. screen is nicer than all the nokias i delt with. But not as good as the sagem's or samsungs.
Bluetooth works brilliantly - never had a problem with it. The music software is a pain in the ass to work out - but once you get it its easy. I bought it really cos its like a rolex - doesnt do shit, doesnt have lots of buttons or fancy shit...but looks a million buck when sat next to the competition.
