North Shore 250 ride - slow/medium - Sun 18 March - All welcome!

Seeing as my bike is possesed of the devil, I won't have time to finalise the route or timings tomorrow. I'm going to have to spend time exorcising the demons instead.

The provisional plan is to head north from Riverhead - Peak Road, Old North Road, onto SH16 to Wellsford. I know these roads reasonably well

From Wellsford, the plan is to go on to to Managawhai (?) Heads for lunch. I don't know these roads at all.

Have some lunch at Mangawhai, then more or less do the same in reverse.

I would guess it'll be about 300K round trip, maybe a bit more. 2 hrs to Mangawhai heads, get there about 12.30 - 1.00. Hour for lunch, turn around and come back.

If I can't get my bike fixed, I dunno if I can make it. Anyone want to lend me a bike?

I'm bailing out.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am unable to commit to the ride as I hve to go and play golf today.

SWMBO has decreed that this is law, and as such (we have a bloody uncomfortable couch) I will be housebound tomorrow instead.

Despite all my efforts, the bike will not be running until at least next week.

It would be an understatement to say I am pissed off at the moment.

I'd suggest those who want to ride tomorrow meet up and organise their own route, but I will be unable to make it.

I know the route El Dopy is looking at so am still keen to go for blat so I will be at Westgate Gas Station at 10 for a 10.30 get away if anyone is still interested.

I will try and remember to post a 'Cancelled' if weather shit about 8amish, otherwise see ya there.

We will be starters at this stage, wonder if ya'll wanna go on up to Mangawhai, theres a new way to get there now cos' they have sealed a rather cool 'out of the way' country road...Just a thought?...
