I have those already and I have started to wear them on the ATNR and by the end of it my fingers are still numb...I have the technic gloves that have no lining...I think they are summer ones...anyway I will do that if I need to. I'm guessing though that riding in the SI in June can be a little colder that the ATNR!

unfortunately, due to the constraints with ACC i will be taking a few more days to do the trip. dam head injuries. still.
ill be heading down a few days earlier, staying in auckland. then wellington for a few days then meeting up with brian to cross the ferry.
and ill just be popping in to get my badge this year. no camping for me.
i miss that bomb fire, and the lamb shanks and chips too.
so hopefully if i get there early enough i can give some of those southerners a hard time whilst at the site.
ill be heading back to ST andrews to stay.

Thats no good at all mate, best of luck with your recovery.

Unfortunately I won't be going either, I have just sold my bike today and not too sure when it will be replaced. Damn I'll miss it.

If you stick to the main roads and go via Ranfurly, Palmerston and up State 1, it's 240km. If you go via Naseby, Danseys Pass, Duntroon, and up State 1, it's 200km. Although the 1st option is longer it could be quicker depending on what you're like on dirt roads (Danseys).

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!

Yep, shagged the Sporties gearbox on the Crown range or Devils staircase last year. Still undecided about takin it this year. That bottle of Bourbon has gone mate, not enough time to brew another of that quality being the monkey and all (There are standards to be met at the monkey) Maybe start another brew for next years Monkey after I get backfrom this one. Be my 7th in a row as well. Probably see you on the Ferry. Keepin your head down in Wanganui at the moment I bet.

Thankfully across the other side of town, bloody minority idiots spoiling it for the rest. Does not make for a good look for Wanganui. And the bloody mayor bailing out of 'dancing with the stars'......... what next....... ;-)

    Pity about the bourbon too.......

If you stop at the Oturehua Pub for a quiet one before entering the site, go across the road to "Gilchrists Store", its like stepping back in time, a museum of grocery stores past. Well worth the effort!

Well, well, looks like I'm not going again this year. Guess I should've waited a few more weeks before selling. :slap: Too bad, onwards and upwards.

    Have a good rally.
