Hey! hang on, this thread was started by those from the "Mainland" and it seems to have been hijacked by those from the other end. Ok, if the rally is just down the road, but for some of us this gets a bit difficult. Juggling lawnmowing, sick budgies, feeding the cat, creative accounting from the boss (Her indoors) facing the ridiclule of people when we head off, cos the weather is turning to crap etc,etc take it easy on us ok .
hear hear (sp?)
Funny reading though!
I've put my packing list togeather and will only be taking about the same as last year - lol
I'll spend some time thinking of the things that never made it out of the pack last year and drop those off the list.
Still to buy is a new chain (ouch!)

Bike is almost all ready, oil & filter, air filter was due, sebel horn, checked brake pads, general nuts & bolts check, fluids check yada yada. Just have to get the chain sorted now. Rear tyre will be close to shagged by the time I get back so are budgetting for a new Avon Storm.
I got a new clear visor and one of those stick on the inside anti fog thingies. This one tints up in sunlight and goes clear at night... hmm I guess I'll see... or not - lol.
I treated my winter gloves with some Nikwax water-proofing stuff after they decided to leak big time last year in the rain north of CHCH coming home. I've also put one lot of sno-seal on the boots and will do again next weekend.
I used the heated grips going to work yesterday and the left hand one is colder than the right but is still working. I'll check that this weekend, I suspect I need thicker wires.
Last year coming home I got a cold head and have found some balaclavers (sp?) at Katmando. They have a thin polyprop and a much thicker one - can anyone recommend one or other? My helmit is snug but not tight.
