Ever wondered what the stars of the old Chesdale Cheese Advert are up to now days? We spotted them at the Brass Monkey Motorcycle Rally 2007. PLains Club members might recognize them. Here they are, check it out...

Awesome piccies & write up Paturoa, great you & the others had a great trip & rally.
Pity we didn't make it this year, but you didn't need help with the fire drum this year by the look of it.
Next year there will be a new Bella Vista at Fox Glacier. My sister & her partner will be running it, they let people put bikes in the garage(- as long as there is room for them all of course), they have done so at the Wanaka & Gisbourne one's to date, good place to check out the glaciers from.
Just for a change I woke up early abtou 4:45. aarrrggghhh
Anyway watched some telly and had a shower. I tried to txt and call Shayne to organise the hook up for the ride back to Orkers, No reply and straight to message.
Ah well, went for a walk and had MacDs for breakfast and by the time I got back Biggles was ready to head off on a 90ish 750 Tenere and Candyman (ulyses handle) on a red ST1100. I talked to him breifly and he was the longest travel award at that Brass being from Hiukirangi north of Whangarei.- T.I.E would have been the furtherest if he had been able to go - oh well.
They headed off at about 8 and I went to pack my bike. There was an oli patch under my bike that I though nothing of until I saw what looked like oil on the left hand case, see pics - oh shite! After a couple of miunutes it became apparent that it was actualy radiator fluid - oh shite!
Well after lifting the tank to double check the water level that was OK and it had only droppped enough to create the patch. So I topped it up to max and attempted to find where it was coming from. There is a hose that connects to the back of the front cylinder head that looked about in the right place. Using a pair of long nose pliers I could turn the hose clamp screw - WTF. So I tightened that and crossed my fingers - hasn't leaked since.
By 9am there was no sign of Shayne so I buggered off without him. It was quite windy on the trip thru to Bulls with a strong and gusty westerly. No dramas.
Then I thought what the hell, I'll head thru to Wanganui and do the Paraparas. By the time i got to Wanganui I then though what the hell I'll continue up the coast and do the New Plymouth route as it has been so many years since I've been on that road that I wouldn't recognise it.
It was mostly wet right thru to Otorohanga where I took the back road right thru to Rangiriri.
About 2km north of Ngaruawhia on the side of the road was Biggles. I did a quick U turn and his bike had blown up about 2 hours earlier and he was waiting for his brother to come and get him with a trailer.
Boring trip home and hit the middle of the rush/crawl hour.
Well home safe and 3405 km door to door. The back tyre needs replacing.
After hugs etc, I lay on the couch next to a nice warm fire and Mrs P got me a glass of wine. Then I'm told I went to sleep.
What a great trip, I've now got the bug and have started planning next years trip already!
Great read man!!
I to am looking forward to next year. It is just a cool wee rally, no matter what others might say.![]()
