After a long weekend with several stressful situations in it involving several of my dear little children ( the teenage ones of course), one of them decided to be helpful... Yes he/she decided to do something to get into my good graces, so took to tidying up the backyard of the house we have as a whanau house for our older kids while they are in the process of becoming independant, so she/he ( this, "he/she" is incase they read this), got 2 mates to cut down the "ugly dead tree" in the yard, the problem is that it was a truely magnificent 30 year old apricot tree with the nicest fruit ever!!, "oooohhh" he/she said, "I thought it was dead, it had no leaves",
I replied, "of course it had no leaves, it's F*&%$ing deciduous".
I am laughing about it now but 4 hours ago I was hopping mad! Just needed to vent. I really would have liked to have been consulted first,

Thats my version of gardening cut it off at the ground, done that a few times with mother in law, she not gonna keep it tidy and trimmed, i do my own style trimming at ground level

I used to be an assistant gardener once, up near cairns at a tourist attraction... they'd just point me at stuff and away I'd go.. sometimes I'd get a bit carried away so I didnt have that job very long. became "maintenance man" instead.
we've only got one living tree at home now. i like lemons on my fish

A mate of mine at the mount years ago had the perfect kiwi blokes garden ..... he went round with the chainsaw and cut all the trees off about 3 feet off the ground and concreted the ground. Then he painted the whole area green ..... no lawns to mow or trees to prune !!!

The ultimate in low maintenance properties ........

bb isn't quite 18 years old though is he!!, thanks for the abounding sympathy people! As for maintaining the property, I do all the maintainence, mowing lawns and cleaning up rubbish etc, which is why I couldn't believe that the dear child of mine would contemplate doing such a thing, there are several really hideous trees I wouldn't have minded being demolished, but this tree was the only worthwhile one on the property, anyway I'm going to sell the place I think. I've had enough of my kids trashing the place. It will give me some money to spend on motorbikes, which has to be far more worthwhile I think.

Hopefully I am helping those out there with young children to realise that kids never really stop driving you up the wall, I guess I will have my chance to smile and give sage advice one day when they have unbearable little shits of their own one day!

Count yourself lucky mate!, my young fella (6year old) got into my tool box, found a razor blade knife, he obviously wanted to cut some paper or cardboard or whatever, and used the seat of my TLS to do it! cut a nice big hole in the seat!.
To add insult to injury, I noticed today the little bugger has given my car a scratch up getting his bloody bike out of the shed.

Kids, gotta love em, even if they drive ya nuts occassionally!
