    Unhappy Fork brace for WOF

Took my Marshin in for a wof this morning and the assessor noted that it appears that my forks have provision for a fork brace and that I should have one for warrant purposes as there is a fixture. I queried this and he soon backed down as I said that the new ones dont have such a brace and just cos the fixtures there doesnt mean that there has to be one ( I have pillion pegs but dont have a pillion - does that make my bike unwarrantable...???).

My query is that ok, I have provision for a fork brace, but would I notice any difference if I had one fitted? It will stiffen up a slight amount of fork "flex" I have but any other benefits?

    TIA

A bit overzealous....but then on another thread members were saying they wanted a strict WoF inspection, can't please everyone.Just because there is provision doesnt mean it has to be fitted, unless it was fitted new.Plenty of cars out there have provision for swaybars, but none fitted.Could we extend that to wiring looms....just because the loom has redundant plugs for other models doesn't mean they all have to connected.
