    Stamps

Who do you see about getting stamps valued? Dad has a large collection of old stamps and envelops that have been stored for years now. He found it in an old house he once owned, but has never had them all professionally looked at. A few have been put into a stamp album, but most are just either loose in a bag or on envelopes from all over the world. Havent had more than a quick look through, but some might be worth something (there's a first ed from Samoa in the early 70's, etc). How would you go about getting them valued?

Hi WRT. My Father is an international Philatelic judge and author of several specialists books, my Mother works in an international Stamp auction house.
If you want your stamps valued accurately I am sure they would be happy to oblige.

There is a guy in Otaki (John Mowbray) who is an international stamp dealer - not sure what his number is but if you Google him I'm sure you'll find him. It may be worth approaching a few places for a quote as there may be stamps amongst this collection that someone is looking for and the dealers would know who wants what.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

SPB's old man is reputable - (unlike his son....).

Just don't drop them off at the local stamp shop - odds are they'll rip you off.
