    RSVR - The new GSXR??

While not doubting they are a brilliant bike (and yes I'd like one too) I am drawn to wondering... are RSVR's the new GSXR? I mean there seems to be a hell of a lot more around than there were. Probably for the reason mentioned above. But in saying that, does the fact that more people have seen them and then want one make them more popular? GSXR's seem to be a dime a dozen - it seems like everyone has one. So are people getting an Aprilia because they want to be more exclusive?

I'd get one just for the suspension/chassis. V-Twins are more suited to going fast in NZ imho.

It's a serious question! If trends are measured in disposable income then I would say that there is a trend here. How many RSVR rider/owners are there on site now, compared to 2 years ago or even a year ago?

Having ridden both, and given the necessary wodge of cash, the RSVR is hands down the bike I would buy. It's slightly less comfy the a K5/6 Gixer thou, but it's a more involving ride.

    Stupid eh?

It comes down to an indefinable thing called "Character", except this time the "Character" comes with cojones.

I'd like an Italian slapper ...esp after watching the BEARs racing the other day.

    GSXR1000 - $20k brand new.
RSVR1000 - $26k brand new. This comes with Ohlins, Bremo and other quality components. Putting these bits on a gixxer (individually), you'd spend more than the 26k you paid for the RSV! As for power, the 1000s have so much power they're getting to the point the average person can't use their potential anyway. Hence, there's no point in buying the gruntiest bike around. The RSVR's power is way more usable with the masses of torque. Cause the gixxer changes to regularly, people have to upgrade it more regularly. At least the RSVR won't date as quickly.

If the K7 is as comfortable as the K5/K6, I'd own the K7 Gixxer hands down. Simply because the RSVR hip height is too high. I found this put alot more pressure on my lower back (heaps more forward lean)than the very relaxing positioned K5/K6 GSXR. Important if you're 100KG plus.
If I was 90KG or under, I'd be considering the Aprilia.

And at just over 2/3 the price, the GSXR would be the money winner too. Ohlins/Brembo - You could take the extra cost and put them on your Gixxer then rape the Aprilia for all it's worth.

Actually, I'd take a GSXR and a SV1000S over the RSVR anyday. Best of both worlds for the same price give or take a couple of G!
