yip them RSVR's sure do look sexy. just look at what the Ducati 916 did to motorcycling.the reasonable price of used jap imports has made peoples dream of bike onwership very much affordable.if its exclusive you want try buying a 2nd hand Britten V1000. then i would be in envey.

Jesus, that was a read and a half. And I'd just like to say, for the record, the lot of you shouting "you're gay" or "no you are" at each other, ffs, just come out of the closet, will ya? If PF has proven anything, it's that KB is an accepting society.

Right, back to the original topic.

GSXR's are fast, no doubting that. But they are made for, and sold to, people that buy things based on propaganda. If you want to be able to stand at the pub and spout figures about HP and dry weight (which arent even "real" figures anyway - I'd rather know what's at the rear wheel and how much the bike weighs ready to ride), then the Gixxers for you. And they are good value for what you get - a fast machine that can be used every day.

The Aprilia fills a different market. They're not your traditional, pretentious Italian bike (not naming any names here . . . ), they are a solid performing, damned good looking (and sounding) bike with a bit of style that doesnt cost the earth, either initially or in ongoing maintenance.

They have decent power, handle brilliantly, and are capable of out performing all but the most talented of riders. I'm not ashamed to put my hand up and say that I can't get the full potential out of my bike. That's a big part of why I didnt splash out for the Factory model, I just cant ride a bike that hard. Partly due to lack of talent, partly due to the fact I don't want to bin it, or kill myself, or lose my licence. I have nothing to prove to anyone, and am happy just "pootling" (if that's the word) along at my own pace.

I have no objection if you wish to race off into the sunset on your shiny GSXR with your "181hp", I'll catch up at the end of the ride. At least I'm pretty sure I'll actually make it that far. And I'll still be grinning from ear to ear under my helmet.

Hell yeah! I loved my gixxer, and yeah it was fast, but you have to ride whatever makes you happy. For me, this meant returning to a twin and enjoying my riding experience. Good on ya mate - reminding us what riding is all about!

Jesus. whats he got to do with anything.Pretentious italian bikes.what you on about?.i beleive that the majority of sports bike riders out there wouldnt be able to ride to the bikes full abillity anyway. no matter how good we think we are there is allways some1 better.regardless of the bike some people have the nack to ride the wheels off anything.having the flashest bike siting in the garage doesn't mean your the flashest rider.ahmen

after recently coming from a twin onto a four, the twins are far more fun to ride even though they may not keep up down the straights, the RSVR's are as sexy as hell, and if the ergo's were better for fat bastards i'd have one over a 4 anyday, but until that day i'll have to keep tugging on about how fast i can go

Well I looked at this post last night with no replys to it & started to write out a post then sat back & thought Nah ! I'll wait & see what sort of Tosser replying posts get put on here & I wasn't dissapointed " Piss-Takes " aside some of the more so called Skilled riders comments make me laugh , you of all people should know if you are as good as what is said about yourselves by others that to be "Truely" fast one has to beable to control their bike in all aspects & to do that then the saying my Mentor told me holds true
    " Less is More "
Point been what is the fastest round Wangaui a 600cc bike not a 1000cc bike its not always about big HP to win . As far as me been a Fag / Gay / Cock sucker etc for selling my K3 GSXR1000 & buying a RSVR Aprilia everyone is more than entiled to their option & thanks for that . Just don't say it to my Face !

How many gears does a Gixxer have? What is it's top speed in top gear at max rpm? No-one will be honest here and tell me that they have ever done that. So if a Gixxer is so fast when & where can you use it?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Ya cant even compare an RSV R to a GSX R, two completely different bikes (as you know). People wanting great all round performance from a Vtwin for a great price will get that out of an Aprilia. People want great all round performance out of a four.....will find that with a gixxer. Power delivery is completly different on these two engine types. It's not a status thing, it's often pure preferance over Euro versus Japanese engineering and performance, as well as what suits individual riding styles. Those that have owned and done 1000's of kms on both bikes will know what I mean.

Check out the plastics on a late model gixer and compare that to the Euro bikes. Look at the forks/suspension etc on an RSV R. You can get a lot of Euro bike with top quality components and in my belief superior handling for the same $$$ as you'll buy the japanese oponent.

Anyway....what would I know.....I probably should be in the kitchen doing the dishes lol.

    Geeeeeeze!!!!

FFS - all this damned fuss over a bloody Italian bike versus a Jappa... I wouldn't own a Aprilia for all the tea in China......
