Western Australia members: Overnighter in Greenbushes

On Saturday 10 March, five of us on four bikes took off from my place near Armadale, to meet up with some of my Bunbury colleagues, for a ride in the South West W.A. SPman & Mstriumph were in attendance. We went via Mandurah, stopping for a short break at Dawesville, just South of Mandurah. From there, we went straight through to Bunbury, where we met up with seven other riders (two female). After a meet and greet we travelled to Dunsborough for a coffee break. After that we had a reasonably long run down Caves Rd, through to Karridale for lunch. On a full stomach we went on to Nannup, where we had a short break before negotiating some of the best windy road I've seen so far in W.A., which terminated in Balingup. Stopped briefly there to regroup, as the twisties werent to eveyones liking . From there we had a short ride into Greenbushes. The total distance for us Perthites was 449km. After a great night at the rustic Exchange Hotel, we headed back to Perth (Bunbury crew peeled off). We came back via the South West Hwy, passing through Boyanup, Dardenup (drinks break), Harvey, Waroona (lunch break), Pinjarra. Total milage for me was 676km. Spman & Mstriumph still had to add on about another 100km to that to get back to Toodyay.

Ever notice that anyone slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?

Sounds like the twisty road on a full stomach was almost too much for you mate. touch of motion sickness was it?

sounds like a good way to kill a weekend though.

No, it wasn't like that and I wasn't referring to me. A certain someone else.

Very interesting ride report Zadok, interesting to me because of several things:

    1. You ride a Triumph Tiger and I can see the tall windscreen in pic 3.

    2. SPman (well half of him) and Mstriumph were with you in pic 2.(Hope I got that right)

    3. I have visited many of the little ports along that coast while at sea.

    4. I would love to go over there and ride all around that area someday.

    5. I can see on your map, the places where you guys live, relative to the ride map.(and to Perth)

    6. Your Tiger excelled in the twisties.

Nice little writeup and pics. Cheers John.
