Hey guys,
My indicators have started blinking really fast. Almost to the point where it's always light up if on. I don't know why this is happening. Anyone know (without technical jargon preferably). It's a 1985 Honda VTR250
Cheeers,
Matt

Either your fuse or one of the bulbs. Is it all of them or just one side?

yeah it's both of them. also the indicator indicator on the dash
I've just noticed the same thing happening on my bike. Both front and rear bulbs are working, it's just the dash indicator that's speeding up after about 45 seconds (noticed it waiting at some lights). Weird.
Maybe it's some hidden safety feature to remind me to cancel the indicator after a long period switched on....sounds too clever to be feasible though.
Mine does too but it started after the accident. I wonder if it's something to do with the new indicators I put on or the crash....?
Have you replaced bulbs or it just happened...

Get a new flasher unit, less than $10 from Supercheap, one size fits all.

Are they adjustable... in terms of length of time between flashes?

The frequency of the flash depends on impedance (or is that resistance?) to the flow of current. So when a bulb is out, there's less impedance and a faster flash.
The same effect will happen if there is supposed to be a 10W bulb in there but instead what's there is only 5W. (confirmed on the weekend when one blew on the Ducati and I only had a 5W instead of a 10. At least the thing gave some sort of indication)
Hmmm... I'll replace all the bulbs (if needed) and recheck then...

the new ones might be alot less resistance, if the bulbs are lighting up try adding in a small resister to the circut to make it a bit slower.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
since the are blinking fast, you should blink your eyes every 1.25 seconds, should counter act the effect...![]()
seriously... check;
fuses is in correct, hasn't blown, replace with new make sure correct fuse
Bulbs check all get new bulb replace one at a time and check to make sure if it fixes till you have done all 4, check you have the correct bulbs.
Loose wires check for loose connections and plugs
Cold solders little harder to spot and or test for but volt meter will help
corrision, look for any corrision in and around the indicators, if you have some that could effect the connection of the circut, clean it (some fine wet dry sand paper)
all that has been suggested above
I'm with Steam - get a new flasher unit.
The other suggested causes here will make the flashing go slower, not faster.
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.
cheers guys
As one approaches the speed of light, time plays some funny tricks on you.
Try slowing down to the speed of sound and maybe your problem will cease.
Other than that there is no other advice I can offer different to what has already been given.
