    Proud Dad

My daughter won the 8 and under inter-school backstroke event today.

The funny thing is, she's never been a competitive swimmer, until about 3 weeks back, when she volunteered to enter in the Nayland Primary swim heats, and did really well, and made the school team. She has been doing competitive dancing since she was 5, and has always been pretty good, and now we suddenly find out she's a darn good swimmer.

Sorry for the rant, but this was unexpected, and I'm chuffed that she did so well.

Few more PSI in my water wings, and I reckon I could take her...

Seriously, congrats to the little 'un!

Thanks troops. She is a clever wee pixie, and really does work hard when she finds something she's good at.

She probably finds it real easy to compete coz she knows she's got you on her side! Kids are great!

Thats Great! I think all kids need to have that 'something' they can feel good about. I would love my son to do sports... but hes not interested.... but he's really good at art, which I encourage and rave about, he even got one of his paintings put into the local museum... I now have it hanging on my kitchen wall... and I tell him all the time how awesome he is. Your daughter has found something she loves to do, shes good at, and something you can be proud of... as well as giving her heaps of encouragement and support.

I know exactly how you feel.

My daugthter lives in the UK, her sport is badminton.

Got told that she has just gotten her grading.

She is rated 9th in the UK in the girls under 15 age group. Even better is that she is only just turned 12.

Us dads get very proud of our kids achievements dont we?
