Welcome to KB...you'll never find a dull moment here. Actually, that's not true. There's heaps of mindless drivel that could be categorised as dull. And plenty of useful and amusing characters willing to share their stuff. Enjoy.
Keep an eye on your chain as you approach 400-500 kms. If it looks dry before that, lube it. If it looks ok, you could let it go another 100-200 k's and keep monitoring it. Some riders lube their chain after every 2nd or 3rd tank of fuel. Do it when the chain is hot/warm ie, after a ride.
Best not to overlube as you'll have crap all over your rear wheel and the potential problems that go with it.
I've tried a few brands of lube and had mixed results with some of the cheaper ones. Others swear by them. Current pick of the crop is the Bel-Ray one that dries on and leaves a white film on the chain.
For some alternative opinions try a search for "chain lube" or "chain wax" and follow your nose.
Get a scottoiler - expensive but worth it
