    R.I.P. Gineen

Yesterday I lost my dearest and best friend.

Gayelene Evelyn Humphrey, also known as Gineen, passed peacefully away in Palmerston North Hospital.

Gayelene, a Kiwi Biker member, who, while not possessing a bike herself, loved to pillion, and I have so many happy memories of coffee rides and adventures around the Manawatu and beyond.

She’d bug me to go riding, and vice versa, and with her graceful and petite form, she would come alive on the bike. She was the perfect companion and she bought me so much joy. We shared so much together.

Gayelene was a lover, a connoisseur in fact, of fine wine, good food, coffee, music, and motorcycles.

Until recently she was a much loved and respected nurse at Palmerston North Hospital, where she touched so many lives with her dedication, humour, and professionalism.

Although we only got out on a few KB rides, she loved the ones we made. Except the Taka’s but that was my fault. I’m sorry baby. I listened to your telling off though and we sorted it.

On the rides we attended, thank you to Cowboyz, Bonez, and Meanie for sharing your humour with her, she really liked you guys.

On the Ride for Life, thank you Yungatart, Nasty, Carissa, and several other lady bikers for showing her your love of bikes and your passion.

To Chanccey, FLYGAL, and u4ea, your words of love and support are so appreciated.

To Sugilite, thank you for your kindness and warmth you gave to her, your encouragement, and for her beautiful and treasured gems.

To any of you who touched her in some way, thank you.

And most of all, thank you Gineen, my dear sweet little angel. I love you.

    A gem like no other.

I write this with tears in my eyes.

To Gaylene, a Gem like no other.
You treated me so well, like a long lost brother.
I take honor from the very few rides we shared on the bike.
Had I known what was to come, there would have been as many as you like.
Your pillion style was so smooth, working as one with the bike, always in the groove.
Your sparkling eyes lighting up at any hint of a ride, grabbing at every morsal.
Your last lesson to us being, life is no dress rehearsal.

Go with Love my dear friend.

Alistair, my thoughts are with you. Stay strong. I know she loved you as much as a person can love and being the person she was, will only want happiness for you.
Lots of love to you at this time my friend.
    Anthony

I'm sorry for your loss. I had seen Gineen at a couple of KB events with you and she always looked like she was loving it..... so wonderful that you both had shared a love of biking and could enjoy it together... will be some great memories for you.

Condolences to you, family and friends.

Sad to hear of your loss.

Always remember it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all.
Cherish those memories. They can never be taken away or replaced.

    My thoughts are with you.

I did not know Gineen, but the love there is evident to all. A love like that is never lost, and she will be with you always in your heart, watching over you. My thoughts are with you in this troubled time.

    Ah... Damn...

Reading your post makes me very sad I've never met either of you because that was indeed a worthy tribute. I think our whole community is worse off when some who is loved dearly passes on but thank you for choosing to share a little with the rest of us - I know it can't be easy for you.

Grant Bright asked, 'How long after you are gone will ripples remain as evidence that you were cast into the pool of life?' From the tenderness of your post, it looks like the ripples of her passing will remain for a fair while. During that time, I Vicki and I can be of any help, please contact us and we will do our best.

Otherwise - once again, thanks for sharing and reminding us that this website is more than a slagging match about who or what is the fastest.

    Kindest regards

    Paul Nuttridge
