    hey there,

Welcome to kb and all that's in it. That includes bike info, opinions, debate, humour, sarcasm, abuse, etc. Something for everyone.

Some good suggestions so far about getting a mentor or some riding friends to learn with. The forum can be great for talking about any subject on biking.

    Ride safe and have fun.

Are you taking any prescription medication? [Rain Man]

Welcome to KB dude. I wish you all the best. Riding motorbikes is going to become addictive, and you will eventually be thinking about riding while you SHOULD be studying/listening in class...
Good luck dude. Take a course, they help out heaps

Cheers! Yea, I'm thinking of taking acourse next week so I can start riding properly. It's already becoming pretty addictive.

Oh, anyone selling one of those ventura bike packs at all? Cos I want one, but would rather get one second hand than having to pay $160 for a brand new one :P

Ask around your bike shops as they sometimes sell a bike and forget to put the loop part back on, or the whole frame sometimes. I have goot 2 over the years like that- for beers.

all you need is the rack as any bag will go on with enough magic bungies!

Saw your bike before you bought it as my lady took a shine to it, nice example. Nice color too
Give the fork sliders a good clean up and keep an eye on them as there was a little pitting from what I can remember. Or just take a good look as I saw 4 Voltys and I may have got it mixed up with another one. That bike was displayed outside in Auckland 'sunshine' for a few months, I would look at lubricating and preventative measures to the exterior.
I bet it goes well, I did not ride that one but it sounded crisp.

Sorry if I nabbed your lady's bike mate! Guess there'll be plenty more out there though.

They cleaned it up a bit before they dropped it off, it had to be re-vind etc. There's a bit of rust on it, but nothing a bit of tlc wont fix, as I intend to look after her!

Gonna book a ride course for this saturday

Hey Metalor, I saw a maroon Volty with a tan seat in K Rd at lunch time today. It was eating at Subway. Was it yours? Do you let it out all on its own?

My Volty wanted to stop and say "Hi" but unfortunately we had work to do.

I got some boots for just under $200 from Cyclespot, on Barry's point road.

That seems like a ok price on your Volty there

    Have fun!

well not too much or you might loose your licence like some knobs....

You'd have to be pretty talented to lose anything while riding a Volty.

Went on the motorway on thursday for the first time..... 5th time I've ever taken it for a ride! Haha, don't think I'll be doing that again till I can actaully ride! Made it to St Lukes from Massey and back though... but stopping and starting is a bit of a bitch. Should be more confident after my course on Sunday.

Oh, and I think some prick on trademe may have ripped me off $87 for a pair of boots... isn't answering my emails and still no boots have arrived on my doorstep!
